Hallie Meeks of Fayetteville, daughter of Tim and Melissa Meeks, was selected to participate in the 2019 USA Softball All-American Games held June 8-10.
She attends Unity School and is a member of the Lady Falcon Middle School softball team. She plays travel ball for the Birmingham Thunderbolts 2024.
At the All-American Games, she was a member of the Region 3 Blue (R3B) Team consisting of 15 players from Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina. She was one of four in the pitching rotation and played first base. R3B went 3-0 in pool play, giving them the top seed.
R3B earned a spot in the championship game after going 3-0 in bracket play, outscoring opponents 20-6 in bracket play, posting a 3-1 victory over Region 3 Red, defeating Region 10 White, 4-3, and then earning a 6-1 win over Region 4 Blue.
In the championship game, R3B jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning over Region 5 Red and never trailed. At the end of regulation, R3B won the title 6-2.
The USA Softball All-American Games is a prestigious tournament held at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex in Oklahoma City. Providing national exposure and competition to elite athletes in the 12-Under age division, the USA Softball All-American Games identify and highlight the best athletes from across the country.
Designation to a USA Softball All-American team is one of the highest honors a player can receive and instantly brands the player as one of the top athletes in the United States. Only 360 girls nationwide will have the opportunity to wear the USA Softball All-American jersey at this elite event.
