LC softball by the numbers

Lady Falcon softball split in district action last week. Monday, the ladies came from behind in the top of the seventh with a grand slam by Anna Marie Thornton to win on the road over Shelbyville, 6-3. Wednesday, the ladies went down in a defensive battle, 3-2, to Coffee County; none of the Lady Raiders’ runs were earned.

The 24th Annual Border Battle was scheduled to bring 23 teams to town for a tournament on Friday and Saturday of last week, but Mother Nature had other plans, and the games were cancelled due to rain. It’s the second time in the tournament’s 24-year history for a washout.

Currently, the Lady Falcons are 15-11 overall and 5-4 in district play.
