Lincoln County High School’s Football Coach Tim Johnson was suspended for Friday night’s game at Shelbyville due to a locker room incident last week.
The following is a statement released by Dr. Bill Heath, director of Lincoln County Schools, prior to the game.
“Due to the conversations circulating throughout the community over the past 48 hours, we want to make this announcement directly to you, our Falcon fans. As the result of an ongoing investigation into a locker room incident, Coach Tim Johnson has been suspended from coaching duties. Currently, the suspension is for tonight’s game with further action to be announced early in the week.
“I want to ask the Falcon fans to support our players and focus on our student-athletes. Falcon football’s rich history has been a result of the support from our community and hard work of our players and coaches. Please support Interim Head Coach Don McNeese and the staff, along with the players, as they compete and carry on the rich history of Falcon football.”
Johnson, a former Falcon and graduate of Lincoln County High School, was hired as head coach in 2018.
