Falcons by the numbers
The Falcons’ season came to an end in the first round of Region 4-AAA action, going down to Siegel on the road, 76-43. Lincoln County put together an 18 win season, finishing as the two seed coming out of the regular season in district action and the three seed following the tournament.
Seniors wrapping up their time on the hardwood are Holt Richardson and Devin Gifford. The Falcons played a deep bench all season, giving substantial playing time to a dozen players. Those returning will have game experience.
None of the boys’ teams from the district advanced through the region’s first round. It was Oakland, 82, Lawrence County, 42; Riverdale, 52, Coffee County, 47; and Blackman, 70, Columbia, 57. In the second round, it was Oakland, 51, Riverdale, 40, and Blackman, 58, Siegel, 48. Oakland defeated Blackman in the championship, 57-45.
In sectional action, Oakland hosts East Hamilton and Blackman travels to Cleveland.
