Lincoln County High School’s Falcons took their second loss of the season, going down on the road to Marshall County, 31-14.

The injury bug has hit the Falcons hard, whose numbers are down, with starters on both sides of the ball questionable for this week’s region game with Franklin County (2-0).

Against the Tigers, it was a 9-7 ballgame at the break. The Falcons briefly took the lead in the third quarter, 14-9, but Marshall County answered, putting up 22 unanswered points to seal the win.

Note: This Friday night at Franklin County, it’s “Touchdown Against Cancer” night honoring childhood survivors and siblings of angels. Fayetteville’s Harper Bagley will be one of the 11 honorary captains at the coin toss. Proceeds from the event goes to St. Jude and the Multi-County Cancer Support Network. Donation buckets will be available at the concession stand. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
