The Lincoln County Middle School basketball tournament is scheduled for Jan. 28, 30 and 31 and to be held again at Ninth Grade Academy.

Admission is $4 per night for everyone school age and above. In the event of inclement weather resulting in school closure, games will not be played and will be rescheduled at a later date.

In the seeding for the girls, South Lincoln finished 8-0; Highland Rim, 5-3; Blanche, 4-4; Unity, 3-5; and Flintville, 0-8.

On the boys’ side, South Lincoln and Highland Rim finished at 7-1. The Eagles won the coin toss and selected the first seed, giving the Hornets the second. Flintville and Blanche finished tied at 3-5. The Bobcats won the toss and selected the third seed, giving the Bulldogs the fourth seed. Unity wrapped up their season at 0-8.

In the first round of the tournament, Unity’s girls take on Flintville at 6 p.m. on the Tuesday, Jan. 28. Blanche boys match up with Unity for the second game starting at 7:15.

Thursday four games will be played. In the first game at 4 p.m. the Lady Eagles meet the winner of the Unity vs. Flintville meeting. The second game, starting at 5:15 p.m., sees the Eagles take on the winner of the Blanche and Unity match-up. Highland Rims ladies meet the Lady Bulldogs in the third game, starting at 6:30 p.m. Then the Hornets take on the Bobcats in the final game of the night, beginning at 7:45 p.m.

Championship girls’ action gets underway at 6 p.m. on Friday, with the boys’ championship game to follow at 7:15 p.m.
