Lincoln County High School's Lady Falcons returned for their first action of the new year hosting district rival Lawrence Co. The ladies went down in a battle, 52-42.
Friday's road trip to Columbia was postponed due to COVID-19 protocol.
Saturday the ladies won at home over Giles Co. in a make-up-game, 73-48.
Early in the game against Lawrence Co. the shots fell for the Lady Falcons up 18-10 at the end of one and 30-25 at the break.
But from that point, the baskets didn't come easy. At the 4:36 mark in the third, the Lady Cats took their first lead of the night up 33-32. At the end of three, it was knotted 37-37.
In the final minutes and the ladies trailing by four points, the Lady Falcons were in a must foul situation. The Lady Wildcats dropped five shots from the line down the stretch to seal the win.
Against Giles Co. the ladies shot the ball well from the floor knocking down 10 shots from the arch with 6 coming from Rilee Smith.
This week the ladies host Franklin Co. on Tuesday before Coffee Co. comes to town on Friday. Game time is at 6 pm.
