Tiger fans who joined the “1 for 1 Club” agreed to make a donation of $1 for each free throw made by the Tigers and Lady Tigers during the season. During the 2022-23 season, “1 for 1 Club” members donated more than $1,200, and all donations were split between the two teams.
This season, the Lady Tigers finished in 3rd place during regular-season District play, literally a single basket away from 1st place. They also set 15 new team records, including most points in a season, most points in a single game, best field goal percentage, and most overtime periods in a game. Individual player records were also broken, including senior Isabella Martin, who broke the school record for most assists in a career, and senior Gracie Hoagland, who broke school records for best free throw percentage in a season and best free throw percentage, most free throws, and most 3-pointers in a career. Freshman Trinity Dixon broke the school record for most steals and assists in a season.
The Tigers also had a season to remember, finishing the regular season as District 9A season champions, District 9A tournament champions (4th in a row and 5th overall), Region 5A Tournament Champions, and State Tournament Elite Eight. Isaiah Thomison was named District 9A tournament MVP and Elk Valley Times team MVP.He also joined the FHS 500 rebound club, finishing his career with 663 rebounds. Coach Murdock and the Tigers reached a program milestone by winning their 200th game.
