Lincoln County High School's Falcons split in district action last week kicking off 2021 with a district win at home over Lawrence Co. 41-35 on Tuesday. But on Friday dropped a road trip to Columbia 77-63.
Against Lawrence Co. after the opening minutes, the Falcons never trailed but the Wildcats kept within striking distance down to the wire. Points didn't come easy for either team.
Eli Ogle went 5 of 6 from the line down the stretch to seal the win.
On the road at Columbia, the Falcons were up 20-18 at the end of one. But a 21-9 second period in favor of the Lions put LCHS in a whole they could never overcome.
The Falcons fought back keeping it close trailing 54-49 at the end of three. But in the final frame, the Lions went 15 of 18 from the line sealing the win.
This week Lincoln County host Franklin Co. on Tuesday before Coffee Co. comes to town on Friday. The girls' action starts at 6 pm with the boys to follow.
