Ronald James Clayton Obituary

Ronald James Clayton, 79, passed peacefully in his sleep during the early morning hours of Monday, (April 26, 2021) after a courageous battle with cancer. He was able to come home and be surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born October 4, 1941 in Columbus, Mississippi. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 56 years, Eula “Lee” Shoemaker Clayton. He is also survived by a son, Bert Robert Clayton, and a daughter Ronda Clayton LeBoeuf (Jeffrey), granddaughters, Allison LeBoeuf, Sarah Paul (Kevin), Madeline LeBoeuf, Olivia LeBoeuf, Bridget LeBoeuf and Mary LeBoeuf, as well as a great granddaughter, Aspen Paul. Also surviving are his sisters, Kay Dickson and Lana Clayton, and a brother, Donald Clayton. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kay Delores Kleinschmidt Clayton and Denver Lee Clayton, and his siblings, Robert “Bob” Clayton, Lorraine Shoup, Denver Louis “DL” Clayton, and Carolyn Simpson. Ronald was a proud veteran of the US Army and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was also a private recreational pilot and enjoyed flying his Mooney airplane for many years. He requested no funeral but would like his family to enjoy a barbeque and share fond memories of time spent with him. Ronald was known for his generosity, so in lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society.
