Rachel Irene Kimbrough Obituary

Rachel Irene Kimbrough, 87, of Flintville, passed away Friday (May 15, 2020),

at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Rachel was born on September 12, 1932, in Lincoln County to the late Allen Clyde and Mildred Irene Kimbrough. Rachel worked as a secretary for the phone company, Serbin, Elk Valley Home Health, and Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Rachel was an active member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She loved traveling, shopping, and cooking every Sunday. She was a very loving, caring, and giving aunt to all of her nieces, nephews, and extended family. Survivors include her sister, Julia Kimbrough (the late Chester) Quick; sister in law, Clydia Kimbrough; brother in laws, Jack Simms and H.D. Warren; nieces and nephews, Jimmy (Carla) Kimbrough, David (Robin) Warren, Beverly (the late Mark) Crabtree, Van (Lee) Quick, Martha (the late Danny) Johnson, Max (Sheila) Quick, Deborah Kimbrough, Mark (Brandi) Simms, and Mindy (Joe) Jennings; as well as , many great nieces and nephews; and great great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by her brother, Sonny Kimbrough; sisters, Josephine (Carl) Groce, Sandra Warren, and Jane Simms; and her soul mate, Bud May. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude, Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will be no public gathering at this time. A private family service will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Bro. Milton Martin officiating.
