John Davis “Smoke Em” Dangerfield, 72, of Fayetteville, passed away on Monday (Aug. 30, 2019) at his residence. He was born on April 26, 1947 in Lincoln County, the ninth child born to the late Herbert Dangerfield and Gertrude Nobles Dangerfield. He was a former employee of Tyson Foods in Shelbyville and Amana Refrigeration in Fayetteville. He enjoyed working on cars. He leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Lucrecia Dangerfield and Teresa Dangerfield, both of Fayetteville, and Clarissa Dangerfield of Columbus, Ohio; son, Charles Dangerfield of Fayetteville; sisters, Josie M. Young of Nashville and Bessie (Johnny) Bean of Fayetteville; brothers, Clarence E. Dangerfield and Willie N. (Dora) Dangerfield, all of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Tanisha Dangerfield, Sheka Dangerfield, Kassidy Dangerfield, Corey Dangerfield, all of Fayetteville, Victoria (Divens) House of Manchester and Caylann Dangerfield of Huntsville, Ala.; great-grandchildren, Chance Dutchess and Sophia House; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with the Rev. Craig Carmichael officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
