James Clifford Reed, 80, of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday (March 15, 2019) at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, surrounded by his loving family. Clifford was born on Sept. 7, 1938 in Lincoln County to the late J.B. And Evelyn Mitchell Reed.  He was known as the “SunDrop Man,” owning and operating a SunDrop distribution company in Lincoln County for 33 years.  Clifford was a devoted family man who loved the Lord, his family and helping others.  Mr. Reed was a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ.  Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Laura “Jeanie” Smith; daughter, Cindy (J.B.) McCormick; son, Russell (Lisa) Reed; grandchildren, Jennifer McCormick (Dell) Gann, Jason (Heather) McCormick, Jared (Nicole) Reed and Alanah Reed; great-grandchildren, Cailyn McCormick, Reed McCormick and Ashley Gann; sister, Faye (Sammy) George; sister-in-law, Nancy Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Reed was preceded in death by a brother, William Carroll Reed, and a sister, Sue Reed Gaddis. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 18, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Andy Lyon, Bro. James Strope and J.B. Cox officiating.  Burial will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday at Higgins Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908 or to a charity of your choice.  Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
