Gunnery Sgt. (Ret.) Thomas E. Harris, “The General”, 77, of Fayetteville, passed away on Tuesday (April 16, 2019) at his residence. Thomas was born on Jan. 1, 1942 in the District of Columbia. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the armed forces, he worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed harness racing and training horses. Survivors include his life partner, Ingrid Currin; children, Donnie (Rhonda) Currin, Ricky (Theresa) Currin and Fred (Penney) Currin; grandchildren, Stefanie (Joey) Worden, Thomas (Hannah) Currin, Alisha (Chris) Dunnavant, Richie (Monica) Conner, Kayla Currin, Justice (McKayla) Conner, Travis Currin and Elizabeth Currin; great-grandchildren, Lily Dunnavant, Bentley Dunnavant, Caleb Worden, Chloe Worden, Cara Worden, Kaygen Currin, Raiden Currin, Bella Conner, Olivia Conner, Dahlia Hindiyeh and Serene Hindiyeh. Graveside funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, at Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens: Garden of Honor. Visitation with the family will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday, April 19, at Higgins Funeral Home. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
