Felix Ryan Guntherberg Obituary

Felix Ryan Guntherberg, 63 of Elora, passed away on Sunday, (June 21, 2020) at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. He was born in Sewanee on July 17, 1956 to the late Alfred Joseph and Felix Ophelia (Griffith) Guntherberg. Felix was a 1974 graduate of Central High School in Fayetteville and a 1983 graduate of MTSU, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry. He was employed by the Lincoln County Health Department for fifteen years as an environmentalist. He enjoyed gardening and working with his plants in the greenhouse. He loved the outdoors and watching any kind of sports on television, especially the University of Tennessee Volunteers. A loving and caring person, he cherished the time spent with his family and friends as well as his four-legged best friend, Dog. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred Frank and Pearl Guntherberg, and Dr. Alfred Luther and Tama Ryan Griffith. Felix is survived by his loving daughter, Brittany Guntherberg of Winchester; granddaughter, Katelyn Clark of Winchester; siblings, Joe Guntherberg of Alabama, Steve (Sharon) Guntherberg of Elora, Rachel (Rickey) McCauley of Fayetteville, Becky (Ronnie) Wheeler of Dalton, Georgia, Kevin Guntherberg of Memphis, and Brian Guntherberg of Elora; nieces and nephews, Trey Guntherberg, Michael Guntherberg, Chad Guntherberg, Craig Guntherberg, Ryan McCauley, Beth Jent, Tama Ledford, and Matt Wheeler; several great nieces and nephews; and mother of his daughter, Lisa Medley of Pelham. Visitation will be from 11 am-2 pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel.  Interment will be at Elora Cemetery.
