Charles W. Osborne, 89, passed on Tuesday (Oct. 16, 2018). He was born on Nov. 11, 1928, the son of the late Lonnie and Stella Osborne. He was the father of Terri and William (deceased) Duesler and Reggie Osborne (deceased); grandfather to Devin Duesler and Daniel Duesler; brother to Nina (deceased) and Ernie (deceased) Young, Toney (deceased) and Vanola (deceased) Osborne, Virginia (deceased) and John (deceased) Reese, Dean and Paul (deceased) Klopell, Sarah and Forrest Ward, Herman and Sharon Osborne, Betty and James Van Trump and Bobby and Tricia Osborne; uncle; great-uncle; cousin; and friend to many. Mr. Osborne served in the United States Army and was a decorated veteran who served in the Korean War and in Germany. He labored as a machinist most of his life at several companies, retiring from National Copper. His interests included gardening, reading, fishing, hunting, feeding and watching the wild birds from his many feeders. Memorial services will be held at Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 3 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow in Prospect Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to his favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
