Birdie “Betty” Elizabeth Pigg, 91, of Howell, passed away on Saturday (October 10, 2020) at Donalson Care Center. Betty was born on May 3, 1929 to the late James Marvin and Venie Victoria Ables Hill. She worked in Quality Control for Blue Ridge Shirt Plant and was a member of the Church of Christ at Howell. Betty loved the LORD, loved her family, and loved to cook.
Survivors include her daughters, Connie Ann Sprinkle, and Brenda Sue (Sam) Ezell all of Fayetteville; son, Jody Lewis (Carol) Pigg of Columbia; grandchildren, Bobby (Tammy) Sprinkle, David (Terri) Sprinkle, Angie (Ray) McCullough, Jason Ezell, Jeremy (Juli) Ezell, Josh (Kelli) Ezell, Dinah (Alan) Hall, and Michael (Stephanie) Pigg; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James Lewis Pigg; granddaughter, Sara Walker; great-granddaughter, Anna Walker; brothers, Buster and Charles Hill; and sisters, Dorothy Moran, and Mary Ann Stephens.
Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sara Walker Foundation, P.O. Box 3111, Brentwood, TN 37024.
