Washington youth tour delegate Julia Cox wins $10,000 scholarship

Julia Cox, the 2020 Washington Youth Tour delegate from Fayetteville High School, recently won the $10,000 Cooperative Youth Ambassador Scholarship from the Tennessee Electric Cooperative Association (TECA).

Cox’s name was placed in the drawing for being one of the 2020 Washington Youth Tour delegates. Her name was drawn out of several hundred entrants.

To receive the scholarship, Cox must meet the requirements. She will make several social media posts about the contest, participate in community service projects with FPU, attend a board meeting and serve as a spokesperson during next year’s Washington Youth Tour presentation at Fayetteville High School.

“We are very excited that Julia won the scholarship,” said FPU CEO/General Manager Britt Dye. “She is the first youth tour delegate from FPU to be awarded the scholarship.”
