On the morning of Tuesday, September 1, a number of Lincoln County citizens were sworn into positions as public officials.
Following the election that took place in early August, three individuals took the positions of Assessor of Property, District 1 County Commissioner, and District 8 Commissioner. Additionally, the position of Chief Deputy Property Assessor and the two positions for Deputy Property Assessors were filled.
The rising officials were sworn in by Judge Andy Myrick, raising their right hands one at a time and taking their respective oaths of office.
Tammy Painter was sworn into the office of Assessor of Property; Darren Holland assumed the role of County Commissioner for District 8; and Danny Walker took the position of County Commissioner for District 1, a role that he assumes as the successor of his late brother Darren.
Filling out the property assessor’s office, Susan Sanders was sworn into the position of Chief Deputy Assessor, and Riley Fleming and Christi Sempack assumed the two Deputy Assessor Positions.
All individuals being sworn in wore happy faces, many of them taking on their roles while their family members looked on from the audience.
