Beginning Wednesday morning, Dec. 4, the Lincoln County Highway Department will be closing Molino Road to start repairing a road slide originating with heavy rains earlier this year.
The road will be closed between the John Campbell intersection and box #854, according to a release issued by the department last week, adding that the road will be closed for approximately three to four weeks.
“Thank you in advance for your patience as we work to get this road repaired and back in service,” said Lori Jean, deputy director.
The road was one of several sustained significant damage back in February as heavy rains fell across the area. Altogether, an estimated 10 to 12 inches of rainfall dropped on an already saturated Lincoln County over a five-day period.
In the wake of those rains, large cracks appeared in the pavement along Molino Road.
