Mark Mitchell has announced his candidacy for Lincoln County commissioner in District 3 in the Aug. 2 general election.

“I would appreciate your vote Aug. 2,” said Mitchell in making his announcement. “It would be an honor to serve the people in District 3 in Lincoln County as your commissioner.”

Mitchell was born and raised in Lincoln County and has lived in District 3 for nearly 30 years.

“I consider myself blessed and fortunate to have lived my entire life here,” said Mitchell. “It is my hope that we can help Lincoln County grow and prosper so that future generations have the opportunity to do the same.”

Mitchell has been very active in the community and has served on many boards. He served on the Fayetteville Little League Board for three years, Lincoln Leadership’s Class of 2004 and Lincoln Leadership Board, the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Kiwanis Club, serving as president in 2006 and 2007, Carriage House Players for 26 years, serving as treasurer for 25 years, Fayetteville-Lincoln County Museum Association for 14 years and treasurer for 11 years and, has been a part of the Fabulous Fifties Show for over 22 years.

He and his wife, Teresa, are members of Washington Street Church of Christ. He is employed by Lincoln Farmers Co-op.
