Loss of life in Park City Fire

At 3 am Monday, June 1, the report of a structure fire at 49 McAlister Rd., Park City was received. Volunteer units from 410-Flintville, 415-Vantown, 412-Blanche, and 418-Molino responded to the call.

“At the time we arrived on the scene the house was involved,” said Doug Campbell, EMA Director and Fire Chief for Lincoln County. “We regret to report there was one fatality. The State Fire Marshall and Sheriff Murray Blackwelder were called in for an investigation.”

“The fire was reported by a neighbor,” Campbell added. “Electrical issues may have been the cause but that is yet to be determined. There were vehicles lost as well. We remained on the scene for around five hours.”

The Elk Valley Times will provide more details as they become available.
