A Suicide Prevention Town Hall meeting, sponsored by the Lincoln County Department of Education, will be held Thursday, Nov. 15, at 6 p.m. at Lincoln County High School, 1233 Huntsville Highway.
Suicide is the second-leading cause of death for youth aged 10 to 24 in Tennessee. The stigma associated with suicide and mental health issues often prevents people from seeking help for their problems. Breaking the silence is the first step towards saving lives.
This meeting is an opportunity to learn more about suicide – how it happens, why it happens and how we can prevent it. Guests will have an opportunity to ask questions, share their stories and voice their concerns.
The Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network’s (TSPN) Executive Director, Scott Ridgway, MS, will be providing information at this session. Various suicide prevention information will be available for participants.
