‘Remember, Celebrate, Act’ was the theme of the Martin Luther King, Jr., Day March in Fayetteville Monday. Marchers braved a wind chill in the teens as they participated in this year’s observance, organized by People Helping People for Progress and launched in 2001 by founder Thomas Lee Kemp. Even though Kemp passed away in August of 2018, the tradition continues as King’s legacy is kept alive. Participants marched from Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church to the courthouse lawn for acknowledgements and comments, and then continued on to St. Paul A.M.E. Church, for a program there.
