A Fayetteville man who was hit by a car while standing in the turning lane of Huntsville Highway last Sunday evening was treated and released from Lincoln Medical Center.
According to a Fayetteville Police Department report, Michael A. Cortez, 29, was hit by a 2012 Toyota Camry that was preparing to turn into Jack’s Restaurant.
Driving was Jason Jeans, 35, of Fayetteville, who told police that he didn’t see the man standing in the turn lane.
The accident occurred just after 6 p.m.
Cortez was transported by EMS to Lincoln Health System with minor injuries.
There was no evidence that the driver or pedestrian were using alcohol or drugs, according to Patrolman Kendrick Williams, the reporting officer. No charges will be filed in the accident.
