A Lincoln County man is facing several charges, including especially aggravated kidnapping, following a chain of events that occurred Sunday a week ago.
Robert Michael Richardson, II, turned himself in to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department Thursday. He is charged with failure to appear, being a felon in possession of firearm, interfering with emergency calls, especially aggravated kidnapping and reckless endangerment.
About 7:10 p.m. last Sunday, Sept. 8, E-911 Dispatch advised that a subject was holding a family member hostage at gunpoint on Johnson Hill Road, said Capt. Inv. Joyce McConnell of the sheriff’s department.
“It was a family dispute,” she said, adding that Richardson was allegedly holding a family member hostage and had made threats toward her. “There were two minors present,” said McConnell.
But, when sheriff’s deputies arrived, Richardson had already left the scene. Authorities then posted that the man was wanted.
Richardson was being held at the Lincoln County Jail Friday on a $195,000 bond.
