An Alabama man, who had allegedly stolen a motorcycle in Madison County, Ala., ended up in the hospital after he wrecked here in Lincoln County late Thursday evening while eluding law enforcement.
Madison County authorities had issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) for a black motorcycle after it had eluded law enforcement there. When the motorcycle entered Lincoln County, Deputy Trent Layman of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department attempted to make a traffic stop on Lincoln Road.
The driver of the motorcycle, Jacob Daniel Williams, 21, of 176 Everett Jones Road, Hazel Green, Ala., turned down Heather Road and made a U-turn into the woods nearby, officials said, adding that Deputy Layman exited his vehicle and attempted to place the subject under arrest. The suspect, however, attempting once again to flee, turning west on Lincoln Road, then speeding through a roadblock on the Huntsville Highway and failing to yield at a red light. The suspect continued onto West Lincoln Road where he ultimately wrecked. He was transported to Huntsville Hospital.
Williams faces charges here of possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacturing, delivery, sale and possession of schedule II meth, possession of counterfeit money, felony evading, resisting arrest, and driving on a suspended license. He is also expected to face additional charges in Alabama.
