Lincoln County just needs four more mentors to support TN Promise students as they navigate the college going process. Many of the students are the first in their family to attend college and need some additional, non-financial support.
Already 48 Lincoln Countians have made that commitment -- only four more are needed to serve our community's students.
Mentors spend about one hour per month working with a small group of students. Mentors remind students about important deadlines, serve as a trusted family resource and, most importantly, encourage students to reach their full potential. The time commitment is small but the impact can be life changing for a first generation college student.
The deadline to apply is this Friday, Dec. 6. Across the state, 1,200 volunteers are needed!
