Jon Jacks has announced his candidacy for a District 8 seat on the Lincoln County Commission in the Aug. 2 general election.

He is the son of Wayne B. and Ina Rae Jacks and is a longtime resident of Lincoln County. Jacks has resided in the Lincoln community for over 40 years, and he and his wife of 24 years, Stacy Jacks, have raised three children.

“I consider Lincoln County one of the greatest places to raise a family,” he said in making his announcement. “I am fortunate to be from a community that is rooted in Christian family values. I look forward to the opportunity to serve the great people of Lincoln County.”

Jacks has served as a coach with the Lincoln County Recreational Complex for more than 10 years.

He and his family are members of Stewart’s Chapel Baptist Church, and the Jacks are involved in multiple community outreach programs.

“Now that my children are grown, I am looking for more concrete and meaningful ways to serve my community,” he said, adding that his mother’s selfless devotion to community as a teacher for 47 years and his owns children’s paths into public service roles has strengthened his desire to give back. “I know there are many ways I can help Lincoln County grow in a direction that is beneficial to those who live here so that we can continue to prosper in this blessed life.

“I would appreciate your vote on Aug. 2 for a seat on the District 8 commission,” he added.
