Muttly's

Mark and Shelley Sly opened Muttly’s Pet Grooming in Parks City in 1994, and the business grew to exceed all of their expectations.

But, after 25 successful years of business, it’s with heavy hearts that they made the decision to close the business due to health reasons and aging.

“We’ve decided it’s time to make some changes in our lives and start a new chapter,” explained Shelley.

“We are very thankful so many of you trusted us with your beloved pets, keeping them looking and smelling good!” said Shelley. “More than that, we cherish all the relationships we were blessed with over the years. We have met so many wonderful people and will surely miss all of you.”

Shelley and Mark met in Lincoln County in 1993, and since Shelley had been a groomer in Texas, Mark encouraged her to open a grooming business here.

Mark, hailing from Reno, Nev., was working at Eagle Snacks and left to help Shelly with the business. She trained him to groom and as satisfied customers spread the word, the business exploded.

“Thank you to each and every one of you for supporting us all these years,” she said.

The couple thanks customers for their cards, prayers and gifts.

Through the years, they have watched their customers’ children grow up and have brought their pets to Muttly’s to be groomed, as well.  Mark and Shelley raised their son in Lincoln County and now have two grandbabies.

On Saturday, the couple closed the doors on that chapter of their life and now prepare for some “R&R”, while having more time to spend with their family, pets – Teddy and Tinker – and pursuing other interests.

“Special thank you to the late Dickey Campbell, who trusted us and made it possible to pursue our dreams of owning a successful business in the community. May he rest in peace. God bless you all!”
