Members of the Fayetteville Planning Commission gave site and construction plan approval for improvements planned at the Huntsville Highway McDonald’s during their October meeting.

Ken Crowder, representing the engineering firm on the project, appeared before the commission, sharing plans for the fast food restaurant’s extensive exterior facelift – “It will look like the newer McDonald’s that you see,” he said, adding that the front area of the building will be bumped out nine feet, taking in the playground.

The drive-through will also be redone, and the menu boards converted to digital displays. The interior is also expected to be remodeled, with kiosks added inside where orders may also be placed.

In other action, minor plat approval was given to the subdivision of property off of Liberty Road, where a piece of property will be divided between two neighboring properties.

In discussion, it was noted that staff is working toward having the Sequatchie Concrete property cleaned up on South Main Avenue. The hope is that the property can soon be placed on the market.
