Lauren Honea, who has served executive director of Fayetteville Main Street for about a year now, has resigned the position, announced the organization’s board of directors Friday.
“Mrs. Honea is stepping down from her position to focus on her growing family,” wrote directors in a statement issued Friday. “She and husband, local attorney Garrett Honea, recently announced they are expecting their third child.”
Honea assumed the role of executive director of Fayetteville Main Street early on in 2019 and has been instrumental in the success of many activities such as Fayetteville First Fridays.
Honea said she “will always continue to be an advocate for Fayetteville Main Street and the important work this organization does to improve the town that we call home.”
The Main Street Board of Directors extends well wishes to Mrs. Honea and the Honea family, the statement continued. Fayetteville Main Street will soon begin the application process for a new executive director. Persons interested can check wwww.fayettevillemainstreet.com for updates.
