Lincoln County Extension will host Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) classes on Thursday, Sept. 19, meeting at both 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The 1 p.m. program will meet in the Ralph Hastings Building Auditorium, 208 East Davidson in Fayetteville. The 7 p.m. class will be held at Lincoln County Farm Bureau at 210 Market Street East in Fayetteville.
Producers need attend only one class, and certification lasts three years.
These classes have details about giving injections, withdrawal times, records and other food safety information for beef producers. It is also a requirement for Tennessee Ag Enhancement Grants and Advanced Master Beef classes. BQA fees are $20 for Tennessee Cattleman’s Association members, $40 for non-members and $10 for students.
The Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program application forms are now available, and sign-up is Oct. 1-15.
