Scout Training

Scouts BSA Troop 489 leader Jay Carroll recently completed National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) at Latimer Reservation on the Cumberland Plateau near Spencer. NYLT is an exciting, action-packed program designed to provide youth members of the Boy Scouts of America with leadership skills and experiences that they can use in their home unit and in other situations demanding quality leadership. Using a wide-range of activities, events, games and adventure, participants put into action the leadership skills they are learning. Jay recently achieved the rank of Life Scout and is preparing to meet the final remaining requirements before Eagle Scout rank. Troop 489 meets each “Scout Monday” at Knotting Hill Inn & Events at 7 p.m. and is chartered by First National Bank of Fayetteville.
