National Day of Prayer was observed May 6 in Lincoln County as part of the weekly Lincoln County Community Prayer Wednesday organization’s weekly prayer on the courthouse lawn.
The first Thursday of the month of May is recognized as National Day of Prayer, established in 1952 by President Harry S. Truman.
Participating in the local event were Faye Kelso of St Paul AME church opening with prayer while
Pastor Dezi Fletcher of West End CPCA church and Men of Fayetteville sang.
Pastor Ben Johnson from Hope Assembly gave history behind the day and
Pastor Shaun Lewis from Life Church UPC of Fayetteville led devotion and prayer.
