Music in the Park, a free concert series hosted by the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau, the City of Fayetteville and Fayetteville Parks and Recreation, will kick off this Thursday and run each third Thursday of the month through August at Stone Bridge Park in Fayetteville.
The Madison Community Bank will kick off the series at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 18. The Madison Community Band is a 50-plus piece orchestra from Madison, Alabama.
Next, The Men of Fayetteville will hit the stage at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 15, and Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church Men’s Chorus is slated for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 20. Midnight Jane will wrap up the concert series at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17.
Music, food trucks and family fun are all on the agenda for Music in the Park, organizers said.
Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and a picnic. Additional parking is available by entering the park from Main Avenue South.
Music in the Park began in 2011, according to Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Carolyn Denton. She said it brings in not only residents but also visitors from surrounding counties and North Alabama. “It’s a boost to our economy,” Denton said.
She said this week’s Madison Community Band is “always a hit at Host of Christmas Past and Music in the Park.”
