Editorās note: āLetās Eatā visits restaurants in Lincoln and surrounding counties providing reviews on the food, service and atmosphere. Restaurants are within 30 miles of Fayetteville, brick and mortar, and locally owned/non-chain. Now Letās Eat, Lincoln County! Iāve been told many times over the years to eat where the locals eat. More times than not thatās been good advice, so I have a habit of asking for good eating spots anywhere I go. Doing just that, we recently found ourselves at Paisleeās Place off the backside of the Petersburg square.
Pulling into the parking lot I wasnāt sure we were in the right place. The sign said āTina's Restaurantā and the outside reminded me of an old gas station. Luckily the local who recommended it mentioned it used to be Tinaās so I knew it was the right spot. Entering the restaurant, itās a completely open area with tables and booths spread around the medium size dining room. It gave me the feel of an old small town restaurant your family has been going to for as long as you can remember. Itās not a looker, but they know you and itās welcoming.
As we sat at a booth our waitress greeted us, provided menus, took our drink orders and pointed out the specials written on the board. The menu offers variety from burgers, chicken fingers and sandwiches to various dinner entrees. As we were eyeing the specials of the day, our waitress returned and confirmed the specials would be solid choices. Before taking our orders, she took a few minutes to chat with us about the restaurant as we told her it was our first time in. Hungry for some home cooking we both went with meatloaf and sides - mashed potatoes, mixed beans, macaroni and cheese. As she left, I noticed a waitress at a nearby table chatting with a family and knew that feeling the place gave me was on point.
After a short wait our plates arrived and we quickly dug in. One bite of meatloaf was all that was needed to deem it a winner. It quickly disappeared from both plates. We also enjoyed our sides even though we prefer gravy on mashed potatoes and they didnāt have brown gravy that day. We appreciate a good place for meat and sides and agreed weāll be visiting Paisleeās Place again to try other items or enjoy the same ones.
Take the short drive to Petersburg and visit Paisleeās Place. Friendly staff and good food will be there to greet you.
