Local 4-H'ers

Lincoln County 4-H students recently competed in the Regional 4-H Horse Judging Competition and the MTSU Horse Judging Competition in Murfreesboro. Team members are (from left) Shelby Oliver, Kaylee Sells, Carrie Brigham, Aubrey Malone, Ryleigh Dunn, Brooke Biles, Megan Harris, Mahayla Goedde, Brody McGee, Alivia Gentry, Scarlett Adams, Crystal Arrell, Brody Bryant, Luke Vaughn, Ja’Kayla Small, Emileigh Vaughn and Clay Vaughn.

Seventeen Lincoln County 4-H students competed in the Regional 4-H Horse Judging Competition, as well as the MTSU Horse Judging Competition, both held on March 14 at the Miller Coliseum in Murfreesboro.

Students spent the day judging eight ridden and in-hand classes. The two senior teams secured slots at the state competition to be held in Shelbyville in June.

The Junior team, comprised of Brooke Biles, Crystal Arrell, Brody Bryant and Brody McGee, placed third overall in the 4-H competition. The Junior High team, comprised of Carrie Brigham, Kaylee Sells and Shelby Oliver, placed second overall in the 4-H competition and third overall in the MTSU Competition, as well as second in the Performance Horse Division.

The Lincoln Senior A team, comprised of Ryleigh Dunn, Mahayla Goedde, Aubrey Malone and Megan Harris, placed second overall in the 4-H competition and third overall in the MTSU Competition, as well as third place in the Reasons Divisions.

The Lincoln Senior B team, comprised of Clay Vaughn, Luke Vaughn, Emily Vaughn and Ja’Kayla Small, placed third overall in the 4-H competition, as well as third overall in the Performance Horse Division of the MTSU competition.

Individual awards earned by local 4-H’ers are as follows:

Junior division, Brooke Biles, second place 4-H high individual, second place high individual in the MTSU Performance Horse Division.

Junior High Division, Kaylee Sells, third place 4-H high individual, third place MTSU high individual, fourth place high individual in the MTSU Halter Division; Shelby Oliver, first place individual in the Performance Horse Division.

Senior division, Ryleigh Dunn, first place 4-H high individual, third place 4-H high individual in the Reasons Division, first place high individual in the Halter Division, fourth place high individual in the Reasons Division, third place MTSU high individual;

Mahayla Goedde, fifth place 4-H high individual, second place 4-H high individual in the Reasons Division, third place high individual in the Reasons Division;

Luke Vaughn, third place 4-H high individual, fifth place 4-H high individual in the Reasons Division, third place high individual in the Performance Horse Division.
