Lincoln County High School recently dedicated its updated culinary classroom to the memory of the John Smith, who passed away April 23 and served as vice president of operations for Franke.

Mr. Smith, along with Franke, partnered with LCHS this summer to completely renovate the high school’s culinary classroom.

Franke absorbed the cost and provided the labor for the redesign and installation of new equipment and countertop surfaces. The outdated cabinetry and wooden counter surfaces were replaced with top of the line stainless steel.

Mr. Smith believed in giving back to the community and the schools in order to better students, said officials during the dedication.

Described by company leaders as the cornerstone of Franke here in Fayetteville, Mr. Smith was a very humble man who wouldn’t have wanted public recognition, but the students and staff of LCHS said they wanted to thank him and honor his memory and legacy by dedicating the culinary lab in his honor.

Special thanks to the family of John Smith for attending the dedication.
