With the goal of providing a quality, early education program, Fairytale Learning Center has opened its doors on Ardmore Highway near Skinem.

Owned by Halley Stamps, director, and Robin and Cindy Watkins, the learning center serves children from infants to age five.

Halley, a 2011 graduate of Lincoln County High School, holds a master’s degree in child and family studies from the University of Tennessee.

“I found my passion was in early, early education, from birth to age five,” she said. “I babysat at home and wanted to have a brick and mortar place, and we were fortunate to find this building that has been a daycare for many years.

“My parents were looking to start a business, and I had the qualifications to be director and owner,” she said of her parents and partners, Robin and Cindy Watkins.

Cindy is a U.S. Army veteran and currently works in Huntsville. Robin brings childcare experience to the table at the learning center – his first job from ages 13 to 18 was working for a family member’s daycare.

“Our goal here is to provide a high-quality, early education,” said Halley, who, along with her husband, Keaton, a teacher in the Fayetteville City School System, have a toddler, Seelie.

Fairytale staff includes Brittany Horn, teacher for infants; Kimberly Parks and Paige Adams, preschool teachers; and Melissa Park, floating teacher.

Fairytale Learning Center currently has 13 children enrolled with the ability to serve 36. They are accepting children ages 12 months to five years old. There is a waiting list for infants.

The learning center is registered with the Gold Sneaker Initiative, a health and wellness program for licensed child care facilities through the Tennessee Department of Health, and teaches American Sign Language. The center provides breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack in accordance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines. Fairytale is also able to take state child care assistance.
