During the County School Board meeting that took place on the evening of Monday, August 3, Superintendent Dr. Bill Heath brought to the table a motion to declare County School employees "critical infrastructure," meaning (as per the CDC's definition) that workers designated as such could continue to work following a potential exposure to COVID-19, provided that they remain asymptomatic and take extra measures to limit exposure to others.

Dr. Heath explained that this provision is intended largely for those in administrative positions, whose work is essential to the school system but who could also function in a largely isolated environment. Dr. Heath described a person operating under this provision as essentially "[self-]isolating at work." Little discussion was had among the board regarding this motion, and the motion was passed unanimously.
