The Fayetteville High School FFA brought home some big titles from the State FFA Convention held recently in Gatlinburg.

Chapter Awards included the PLOW (Passing Literacy Onward), ranked Gold in state; Superior Chapter; 10% growth in chapter membership; and Camp Clements Outstanding Officer Team of the Week.

State Degree recipients were Richard Bryant and Ruthie Ruhlander.

Chapter members earning other awards are as follows:

Will Bryant, Agriscience Fair State Winner, Environmental and Natural Resources Division 3, “Comparison of Carbon Dioxide Emissions in Different Year Model Vehicles with the same Sized Motor”.

Karlee Wakefield and Alivia Gentry, Agriscience Fair State Runner Up, Environmental and Natural Resources Division 4, “A Comparison of Methane Emissions from Grass Fed Cattle Versus Grain Fed Cattle Manure”.

Destiny Willis, Agriscience Fair Competitor, Plant Science Division 5, “The Effect of Homemade vs. Bought Plant Food on Fresh Cut Flowers”.

Ja-Kayla Small and Emma Young, Agriscience Fair Competitors, Food Science Division 4, “The Public’s Taste Preference of Different Oils (Vegetable, Olive, Avocado, and Coconut) used in Baking Cakes”.

Cason Seals, Agriscience Fair Competitor, Plant Science Division 3, “The Effect of Water, Orange Juice, and Coca-Cola on Radishes”.

Angel Pool, Agriscience Fair Competitor, Social Science Division 3, “GMOs and Their Effect on Consumer’s Choices on Agricultural Product”.

Eli Dotson, third in state in Employment Skills CDE.

Meat Evaluation Team, consisting of Zach Snoddy, Richard Bryant, Guy Vanhooser and Andy Young.
