The William Askew family presented a memorial donation to the William C. Askew Memorial Library at Fayetteville High School.

The donation went to establish the William Askew Audiobook Center in the library. This audio center will provide books on cd and online for students and staff.

“The center will also support our students with visual and learning disorders,” said Terry Anderson, FHS librarian and media specialist.

“Fayetteville High School and Fayetteville City Schools appreciate all the Askew family have done and continue to do to support our school system.”

William Askew served as a Fayetteville City School board member from 1969 until 2004 a total of 35 years. The family donated a beautiful photograph to hang in the listening center. The photograph, titled “Joy of Life”, was taken by Kelley Hoagland, granddaughter of Mr. Askew, depicting Mr. Askew holding his great-granddaughter, Caroline Hoagland.
