FCE, Family and Community Education Clubs have been a staple in Tennessee communities for more than 70 years. The name has changed from the Homemakers Club, to Home Demonstration Club, to currently FCE. But our focus and creed remains the same.
We believe in the strength of community and friendship. We teach and share knowledge with those in our club and in our neighborhoods. We reach out to those in need and help to lift them up.
As members of the FCE, we learn about our local area and history. Together, we visit landmarks, gardens, new comers and established members of our community. We pool our resources monthly for service projects, such as donations to local fire departments and churches, clothing drives for Clothe Our Kids, bingo prizes for the senior centers, items for the local animal shelter, and raffle baskets for helping those in need. We have annual fundraisers that benefit the youth of Lincoln County through scholarships to college for high school seniors and middle school students going to 4-H summer camp.
We have a blast together. We enjoy holiday luncheons and craft workshops. We host tea parties and movie nights. We organize and hold and annual Country Craft Christmas Bazaar at the Mimosa Community Center. Our longtime established members hold a wealth of knowledge and they share with us things such as sewing, canning, and bread baking.
Our goal is to strengthen and educate our community. Come join the ladies of Mimosa FCE on the second Monday of every month. We meet at the Mimosa Church of Christ in the fellowship hall at 11 a.m. We provide lunch and a great time. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Sara Pietz (931) 438-3251.
We are Tennessee! We are Lincoln County! We are Mimosa FCE!
