Former and present Booneville residents, along with some Lincoln County candidates running for office, celebrated the 35th Annual Booneville Homecoming, held annually on the last Saturday in June at the Booneville Community Center.
Family and friends enjoyed a potluck lunch with lots of great homemade food, fun and fellowship at the center, decorated in a patriotic theme. Several individuals donated gifts and door prizes, items and cakes for the auction. The auction and other donations help generate funds for the upkeep of the building.
Charles Ray McGee and wife, Linda, contribute greatly to the event each year, according to organizers. Charles Ray served as the emcee and auctioneer for the event, assisted by Bobby and Sharon McNatt.
“A special thanks to Lisa and Rodger Dorney, Linda and Charles Ray McGee, Sharon and Bobby McNatt, Lynette and Jerry Carter, and Felicia McNatt Dickey for making the event happen,” said Patsy Wilkes Moore, former Booneville resident.
Rodger Dorney thanked everyone for attending and made an announcement that Lisa Dorney had worked to establish Booneville Community Center as a 501(c)3 nonprofit.
“Rodger also stressed that during the year expenses must be paid on the building and grounds,” Moore said.
Individuals who would like to make a donation to help maintain the center may mail it to Lisa Dorney, 312 Gimlet Road, Fayetteville, TN 37334. Those interested in renting the building for a shower, family reunion or other event may mail their request to the same address.
Dan Logan and Bobby McNatt are caretakers of Booneville Cemetery and for those who wish to make a donation in memory of a loved one, may make the donation to Booneville Cemetery Fund, and mail to Dan Logan, 343 Bobo Hollow Road, Tullahoma, TN 37388 or to Bobby McNatt, 459 Gimlet Road, Fayetteville, TN 37334
