Local Civitan members help with veterans' patient carnival

The Columbia Civitan Club had a booth at the Voluntary Service Patient Carnival at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro recently. They gave to the patients that were brought by from the hospital and other veterans new t-shirts, sweat shirts and pants, socks and miscellaneous items to both men and women veterans. These items were donated to the Civitan Club by the employees of Heritage Bank and Trust of Columbia. They also gave away caps provided by the First National Bank of Fayetteville. Members of the Civitan Club who helped man the booth are (from left) Ron Derksen of Taft, Jim Miller of Columbia and Kay Derksen of Taft. Not pictured is Chris Haywood of Columbia, who also helped.
