The theme is “Old Fashioned Christmas.”

Parade entries

Applications to participate in the city’s annual Christmas Parade are currently available at the Fayetteville Recreation Center, 1203 Winchester Highway. The deadline to enter is Wednesday, Nov. 24. There is no cost to enter.

The parade will form on Thornton Taylor Bypass. Floats should be in position by 3 p.m. Judging will start at 3:30 p.m. All entries to be judged must display the line-up number. All entries not being judged should be in position no later than 4:30 p.m.

Parade participants are not allowed to throw candy, according to organizers.

Other rules and regulations include no squealing tires, no moving cones and no live Santa Claus on floats or vehicles. All beauties and cheerleaders must furnish their vehicles. All vehicles must display Christmas decorations with the exception of antique cars.

No one under the influence of alcohol will be allowed to participate in the parade and Parks & Recreation staff has the right to remove any participant.

No motorcycles, 3-wheelers, 4-wheelers or go-carts, unless they are pulling a float.
