W.S. Badcock Corporation celebrated the grand opening of its first Fayetteville store with a ribbon cutting Tuesday morning at 1416 Huntsville Highway, in conjunction with the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau, the Fayetteville Lion’s Club and members of the community.

Prior to the ribbon cutting, members of W.S. Badcock Corporation’s executive team presented Fayetteville’s Lion’s Club with a generous donation of $2,500 as support of the local community. The Lion’s Club provides vision screenings for children, purchases eyeglasses and eye exams for people who can’t afford them, built a pavilion at Kid’s Park and a stage at Stonebridge Park, along with other community projects.

Greg and Kay Gilliam, owners of the Fayetteville store, also own the Badcock Home Furniture &more Tullahoma and Winchester stores. The couple opened the Winchester store 20 years ago and the Tullahoma store just two years ago. Fay stated that over the years a lot of customers from Fayetteville drove to their Winchester and Tullahoma stores for their furniture purchases.  The opening of the Fayetteville store makes it more convenient for local residents who may be interested in a variety of home furnishings.

Customers may also go to the store’s website at www.badcock.com to view Badcock’s offerings. If the piece isn’t available at the local store, it may be ordered from one of the other stores. Kay also noted that every two weeks they have a new sale.

Greg and Kay have been married 35 years and have two grown children and three grandchildren.
