Author Wesley Bryant’s latest novel will be adapted into a murder mystery dinner show event on Nov. 3 in Fayetteville.
The novel, “RED: Welcome To Fayetteville”, is a mystery/thriller set in Fayetteville.
The event, to be held at Pebble Creek in Fayetteville, is sponsored by Bank of Lincoln County and Pebble Creek, according to the event manager, Camille Bryant, who is unrelated to the author despite the shared last name.
The event’s website, redfayevent.com, describes the event as “a thrill attraction.”
“It’s this story that has been read all over the world about Fayetteville. High school students would message me from other countries saying they were obsessed with the book. I just think it’s crazy that our small town is being noticed all over the place, like Canada, India, across America, and right here in the high school I graduated from,” the author said.
“Enjoy a three-course meal as you watch the action happen all around you. Can you solve the mystery? Will your table survive the night?” according to the website.
“RED” is Bryant’s third novel to hit shelves and his most successful. Since its release in April of 2017, RED has obtained over 143,000 reads and hit #1 on the website Wattpad.com. Last week, RED was selected by Wattpad to be a nomination for the Watty’s, a highly-anticipated award for the website’s millions of visitors. Only four-tenths of one percent of stories entered for the awards get the nomination.
“It’s completely fictional, but the feelings and characters are things we can all relate to,” Bryant said.
Bryant grew up in Fayetteville and graduated from Lincoln County High School ranked at number 15 in his class. He is now a senior public relations major at private, Christian college Harding University in Searcy, Ark.
