Gates opened over the weekend for the annual Lincoln County Fair. Colt Ford brought out a crowd of fans for the opening night concert. A full slate of activities is on tap for the rest of the week.

Fair highlights

Monday, Sept. 10, another day with gate admission at $8, will be free for all students. Armbands will be available for $15 each. The Junior Miss, Miss Teen and Fairest of the Fair pageants will get underway at 7 p.m. on the Fayetteville Lumber Stage, and at the grandstands, a non-sanctioned Truck and Tractor Pull will begin at 7 p.m. Another $500 giveaway is also scheduled in front of the grandstands at 9 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 11, another $8 admission day, with $2 admission for seniors ages 62 and up, will feature an antique tractor exhibit. Harness races are also on tap at 2 and 7 p.m., with the Century Farms recognition ceremony during the evening races. The Tiny Miss, Little Miss, and Young Miss pageants will begin at 7 p.m., again on the Fayetteville Lumber Stage. A trailer 14-foot PJ Trailer, donated by Wholesale Trailer, will be given away at the grandstands at 9 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 12, gate admission $8 for ages 6 and up, will include harness races at 2 p.m. Four on the Floor will perform at 6 p.m. on the Jack Daniel’s Stage, and on the Fayetteville Lumber Stage at 7:30, Pro Wrestling will be held. Another $500 cash giveaway is planned at 9 p.m. in front of the grandstands, and the band Entice will perform on the Jack Daniel’s Stage at 8 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 13, gate admission $10, will feature harness races at 2 p.m., a performance by the Dance Academy on the Fayetteville Lumber Stage at 7 p.m., and the Monster Truck and Motorcycle Stunt Show at the grandstands at 8 p.m. The 2018 Toyota Corolla will be given away at 9 p.m. in front of the grandstands.

Friday, Sept. 14, gate admission $12, will include harness races at 2 p.m. Backstage Dance will perform at 6:30 p.m., followed by Cheer Magic All-Stars at 7:30 p.m. on the Fayetteville Lumber Stage. The Sanctioned Truck and Tractor Pull is set for the grandstands at 7 p.m. A Kubota RTV/lawnmower will be given away at 9 p.m. in front of the grandstands.

Saturday, Sept. 15, gate admission $12, will feature armband day, all you can ride for $20 from 1-5:30 p.m. or $30 from 1 p.m. to close. Harness races will start at 1 p.m., with the draft horse and mule shows starting at 5 p.m. The Power Wheels Derby, ages 3-7, will start at 6 p.m., followed by the Demolition Derby at 7 p.m. Logan Wheat, a local entertainer, will perform on the Fayetteville Lumber Stage at 7 p.m. The final car giveaway will close out the night at 9 p.m. in front of the grandstands.

Car giveaways

Two lucky attendees at this year’s Lincoln County Fair will drive away in brand new cars as a result of giveaways this year.

A new 2018 Toyota Camry, valued at $26,144, and a 2018 Toyota Corolla, valued at $22,763, will be given away during the 2018 Lincoln County Fair, thanks to the generosity of nine local sponsors – Landers McLarty Toyota, Belle City Amusements, Daikin/Goodman, FirstBank, Stovall’s Body Shop and Towing, the Bank of Lincoln County, Holt’s IGA, Lincoln Paving, and SJ&L General Contractors.

The 2018 Toyota Corolla will be given away at 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13, and the Toyota Camry will be given away at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15.

“Every paid admission gets a ticket to the drawings on Thursday and Saturday nights,” said Randy Cowley, president of the Lincoln County Fair Association. “The more you come, the more chances you have of winning! Just put your tickets in the boxes every day and be in front of the grandstands on Thursday night, Sept. 13, and then again on Saturday night, Sept. 15, to win either the Toyota Corolla or the Toyota Camry.”
